The NAACP Collier County Local Branch is a 501(c)(4) organization as recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
“Contributions to civic leagues or other section 501(c)(4) organizations generally are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. They may be deductible as trade or business expenses, if ordinary and necessary in the conduct of the taxpayer’s business.” IRS - Donations to Section 501(c)(4) Organizations
Please note there are some exceptions that may apply to other 501(c)(4) organizations that is detail on the IRS website, www.irs.gov .
Noted Exceptions: Donations made to the ACT-SO Youth Program or the Back to School Program (BTS/SIS) are tax deductible. Be sure to note in memo if the donation is for one of these programs.
